The college was founded in 1994 to teach courses leading to a Biblical Studies Degree. Originally named Cornerstone College it was an Extension Campus of Logos Christian College and Graduate Schools based in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.   The Scottish campus was established by Cornerstone Full Gospel Church of Dalgety Bay, Fife.  This was a pioneering concept in the UK whereby a local church trained people to Degree level  preparing them for church based ministry and wider Christian service.

Offering an American Degree held many advantages in that the USA College issuing the Degrees was Protestant and Evangelical in its stance, and was thoroughly Bible based in its practices.  It also brought to our Campus proven teaching methods that introduced new concepts of delivering course material.  To develop this concept for the UK the Courses were developed, the teaching materials updated, and books that were obtainable in this country were sourced.

The Bachelor Degree is the accepted benchmark for most pastoral and leadership positions in both USA and European churches. The American Bachelor Degree is usually taken over four years of study at the rate of 30 Semester Credit Hours per year - on a part time basis allowing students to continue in employment and minimising disruption to family life while studying. Each Course is normally worth 3 SCH with a selected few at 6 SCH to cover more extensive projects, practical work or research. The whole Degree requires 120 SCH of Credit.

The concept of accreditation of prior learning has been in existence in the American system for many years and known there as Life Credit or Advanced Standing. In order to offer a 3 year Bachelor Degree - such as is available from British Colleges - the Degree offered by the College was developed to incorporate APL by evaluation of each student at the half way point of the Degree allowing a study programme to completion of the degree to be generated.

By 2000 the work had expanded and contacts in Eastern Europe had been made and it seemed sensible to restructure the college activities. Hence the new Logos European College was launched which took over the activities of Cornerstone College, and allowed for further expansion.

Logos European College became an Affiliate of Southern Bible Institute and Seminary who currently issue the Degrees for students completing Degrees with us or our extension campuses through the Association of Academic Accreditation. Southern Bible Institute and Seminary have close links to the Southern Baptist Convention - the largest Protestant denomination in the world.

Degrees obtained through Logos European College have been acknowledged by being accepted into the British System of Education. Students with our Degrees have been accepted into British Colleges and Universities to continue their studies.  One of our students held a BA (Biblical Studies) and also a M.Div. both of which were obtained through Study programmes with Logos European College.  This Student has now completed a Master of Education Degree and is in post teaching in a Secondary School in England. The Degrees obtained through Logos European College were accepted as suitable entry qualifications to enter the Teacher Training Course to teach Religious Education in Secondary Schools.

As expansion and specialisation of the Degree Courses takes place, and with  the increasing number of requests from overseas students, we have newly set up a process for overseas students to apply for a Student Visa to attend the College. The requests from overseas students wishing to attend Logos European College are welcome and this new opportunity is being actively developed.
